JULIEN DOSSMANN CEO & Founder of Wholeloop
Julien Dossmann, a French national, is an experienced executive in the polymer recycling industry with over 15 years of business development and management with the Pyrum Innovations Group in Europe.
Julien holds a Bachelor of Science innManagement from the California School of International Management and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in marketing from the International School of Management / St John’s University in New York.
He started his professional career as an Assistant to the Purchasing Manager at Michelin Reifenwerke in Karlsruhe, Germany. Michelin is a tire manufacturer and Julien primarily negotiated and coordinated purchases of industrial machinery. He then moved on to Allianz (France) / Offenburg & Stuttgart (Germany), an insurance company where he managed a portfolio and conducted business development.
Notwithstanding his other business accomplishments, Julien’s core professional experience in the polymer recycling market started in 2007 when he helped found the Pyrum Innovations Group. Pyrum Innovations (Pyrum) was founded in Germany, Luxembourg, and France with the clear ambition to develop breakthrough solutions to recycle and recover almost any kind of polymer waste through the process of “Thermolysis”. Thermolysis is a thermo-chemical decomposition of material at elevated temperatures without the involvement of oxygen. Using this process, any kind of polymer can be decomposed into basic constituents which can then be easily split for a better recycling recovery rate. . Pyrum initially focused its R&D work on the recovery of used tires and successfully developed a pilot plant that was the basis for several patents. The company added an industrial plant in 2015 and won numerous awards over the years while raising approximately €2.5 million in grants and more than $50m in equity. Pyrum Innovations is the only innovative tire and plastic recycling company supported by the European Union, including support from the EU Energy Commissioner, the Head of Environment at the European Parliament, and the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation. Pyrum Innovations AG has been listed on the Euronext Growth Market since September 2021, which is the growth segment for small and medium-sized enterprises of the Oslo Stock Exchange. Since March 2022, there was also a secondary listing in the Scale Segment, the SME growth market of Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Dossmann still owns approximately 8% of the company's stock.
Now filled with his extensive experience in the polymer recycling industry along with his business development roles and entrepreneurship experience, Julien offers his expert consulting services in polymer recycling using Pyrum’s “Thermolysis” thermal decomposition process.
